Institute

Founded in 2004, the Information Systems Institute (IWI) has a long tradition in Leipzig in the form of individual professorships and today comprises of four professorships, a Faculty Service Centre IT and a total of about 40 employees.

IWI offers a Bachelor's and a Master's degree programme in business informatics and pursues numerous third-party funded projects. To achieve this, IWI cooperates with many renowned practical companies as well as national and international research institutes.

The Information Systems in Logistics Professorship has not been filled since 1st of April 2015, as Jun.-Prof. Dr André Ludwig has accepted a call to Kühne Logistics University (KLU). Until the professorship is filled, Prof. Dr. Bogdan Franczyk will take over as acting head.
