The Master's degree programme comprises four semesters (two years) and ends with the degree Master of Science. The entry requirement is a vocational university degree. The Master's degree continues the management science training in the fields of management science, economics, business information systems and business education and management training and builds on the design of qualification and educational processes. Master of Science in Business Education and Management Training

Building on a Bachelor's degree in business education and management training or economics and management science, this degree programme imparts advanced skills and knowledge in business education. The degree programme enables graduates to take on responsible, pedagogically accentuated specialist and management tasks in companies, in institutions of vocational education and training and in research institutions. Depending on their choice of specialisation, students are prepared for a wide range of fields of activity. The focus of the degree programme lies on the one hand in vocational and business education and, depending on the specialisation, in the areas of business administration, economics, business informatics and sustainability management.

The degree prepares students for jobs in public administration, education research, education policy and in a wide range of fields of application in-company training and further education.

The Master's degree programme in Business Education and Management Training is modularised and follows a clear structure. Here compulsory modules with a total of 30 credit points and compulsory elective modules with a total of 40 credit points must be completed. The compulsory elective area is divided into a narrow compulsory elective area 1 (10 LP), in which one of a range of three modules is compulsory, as well as a broad compulsory elective area 2 (30 LP), from which students can choose from a wide range of business administration, economics, business informatics modules as well as modules from the area of sustainability management. In addition, there is also a 30 credit point free elective area in which any Master's modules from Leipzig University can be studied. Students of this degree programme have the option of certification a specialisation in one of the areas of "Business Administration", "Economics", "Business Informatics" or "Sustainability Management" if they complete the corresponding modules in the elective compulsory area 2 as well as a corresponding thematically oriented Master's thesis.
