PD Dr. Philipp Mundt was previously a private lecturer and research assistant at the Chair of International Economics at the University of Bamberg, where he is on leave for the deputy professorship. His research interests lie in the areas of corporate and industrial dynamics, production networks and environmental economics.
Dr. Mundt studied economics and business administration at the University of Kiel and subsequently completed his doctorate at the University of Bamberg with a cumulative dissertation on “A Statistical Equilibrium Perspective on Corporate Profitability”. He completed his habilitation with the thesis “Empirical Regularities in Production Networks and the Organization of Industrial Markets”.
Among other things, Mundt's research examines the formation of input-output structures in the European Union and the role of peer effects in global value chains. His work has been published in renowned journals such as Management Science, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization und Industrial and Corporate Change.
For his diploma thesis on “Systemic Risk and Financial Contagion in Network Models of the Banking Sector” he was awarded the Science Prize of the Deutsche Bundesbank.
The professorship is assigned to the Institute of Economic Policy. The office of PD Dr. Mundt is located in room I 241, Institute building, Grimmaische Str. 12, 04109 Leipzig.
