SEPT director, Prof. Dornberger, and the founder of SMILE-supported startup Eye-Able, Chris Schmidt, talk about the promotion of entrepreneurship and support for start-ups from Leipzig University.

The 2023 edition of the alumni magazine of Leipzig University has been launched and members of the SEPT/SMILE team are featured on the cover.

In an interview for the magazine, SEPT Director Prof. Utz Dornberger stressed the importance of universities further advancing their role in promoting start-ups by supporting students, alumni, researchers, and other members of the university community who wish to become entrepreneurs.

Also interviewed was Chris Schmidt, founder of the start-up Eye-Able, which is supported by the SMILE entrepreneurship initiative of Leipzig University. Eye-Able develops specialized software to make internet browsing more accessible for people with visual or hearing impairments.

Also in the same issue of the magazine, there are special articles on the work of two other start-ups supported by SMILE. They are Disaster Relief Systems and SAIGE Analytics.
