Participants are expected to acquire theoretical and practical insights on business models for sustainable innovation; case studies in sustainability and revenue models for bioentrepreneurs. The facilitators and coordinators will use a mix of teaching methods including interactive lectures, group work, presentations, and plenary discussions during the coaching sessions.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other participants from Benin, Uganda and Germany. Due to the international nature of the participants, most sessions of the Summer School will be held in English.

ABSBio is a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supported project with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The project is being implemented by the Inter Regional Institute of Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology and Applied Sciences (IRGIB Africa University, Benin), Makerere University (Uganda) and coordinated by Leipzig University.

As part of activities for 2022, a 5 day Summer School will be hosted by the partner university IRGIB Africa University, from 3rd to 7 th October 2022 in Cotonou Benin. There are four (4) positions for Leipzig University students to participate in this summer school.

ABSBio is therefore inviting applications from interested Masters and PhD students of Leipzig University who will be interested in participating in the Summer School in Benin. The project will provide selected participants with flight to and from Benin as well as accommodation for the period.
