This week, SEPT Competence Center has successfully conducted the second phase of the IDEA Summer School 2023 with 25 young innovators, doers and entrepreneurs from 15 countries.

The virtual program moderated by Katharina Günther focused on “Teaching and Learning in Higher Education”. Based on an online course constructed by SEPT on the open learning platform atingi, the participants had the chance to dive into this week’s topic on various levels from workshops to self-reflections, discussions and Q&A sessions.

Despite the tight academic schedule that also included attending the July-Session of the IDEAS Research Colloquium, the group enjoyed spending time together during some leisure activities. As a thematic focus the group chose Germany’s colonial history which led the discussions deep into questions of national heritage and commemorative culture. In a painting-workshop moderated by one of the participants, we even had the chance to explore this topic on the level of arts.

Looking at the motivation of the group as well as the inspiring outcome of this IDEA Summer School phase, we are sure that much can be expected from the upcoming activities: We will meet in Leipzig in September!
