The topic was on how can international experts be recruited, developed and retained?
An introductory lecture by Prof. Dr. Utz Dornberger (SEPT Competence Center, Leipzig University) outlined the problem and provided specific insights into the intentions of international students and graduates in Saxony when it comes to remaining at their university after graduation.
Afterwards we presented four services and possible solutions proposed by Leipzig University (Dr. Anna Flocke, Gunnar Kaßberg, Jazmín Ponce and Dr. Alireza Ansari). The subsequent discussion with our invited guests and the audience was highly productive. The event offered an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and to discuss a core topic of the German economy and its political and societal challenges.
