2022 saw the fifth IDEA Summer School. Even though we weren't able to gather everyone in one place, we have proactively continued to build a strong network of talented and engaged innovators, doers, and entrepreneurs in our virtual space through the CommuniApp.

Over the past few months, the SEPT team and IDEA summer school participants have engaged in three parts of the summer school in June, July, and October. We have been through more than 70 hours of lectures, and workshops from Innovation and Research-based business models to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

Following the three parts of IDEAS, we held our virtual conference from November 9-11, 2022, in which our participants had the opportunity to share their experiences and practice their public speaking skills in a virtual safe space while presenting their projects in various fields, such as virtual tourism, sustainable animal nutrition, bioenergy and process optimization in the agricultural sector, etc. Our keynote presentation from Mr. Gonzalves Nshimiyimana (PhD) gave insights to not only to IDEA Summer School participants, but also to other academics, students, and the interested public.

Our Research Colloquium continued on a monthly basis. On 30th November the 24th Edition took place. The topics included learning  a holistic approach to research methods, communication and presentation skills, publishing proposals and journal articles, networking opportunities, and sharing research experiences and difficulties.

The IDEAS Team would like to thank the Research Colloquium Organizing Committee which consist of Alumni of the summer school for their great work. Further, we thank all the colleagues and external trainers who made this summer school and its community activities possible and last but not least, we congratulate our participants for their progress in their projects.

We look forward to more monthly editions of the Colloquium as well as the next edition of the Summer School in 2023 which will combine the best of the digital and the physical world. We are looking forward to welcoming the next cohort in Leipzig after three years of purely digital adventures.
