Last week, from August 5th to 9th, 2024, our SDG-Partnerships project, funded by DAAD, hosted a successful partners conference. The event held at Universidad de Rosario (Colombia) brought together various project partners to discuss and evaluate the progress of the project's goals.

Day 1: Monday, August 5th, 2024
The conference kicked off with a special session dedicated to the project partners, where the Certified Innovation Manager diploma program was discussed. This was followed by a detailed review of the innovation management modules in the master programs offered by the different project partners, including the new Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at UTN. Important milestones were set, and tasks were distributed to ensure the successful completion of the project goals. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to Project Line 3: PhD Exchange. Relevant aspects of the South-South exchange were discussed, and visiting dates were set. The day concluded with a discussion on establishing university-business linkages initiatives and assigning related tasks.

Day 2: Tuesday, August 6th, 2024
On the second day, topics such as service learning and university linkages were discussed. Additional interested partners from Ecuador and Bolivia participated in these discussions. Key goals, tasks, and responsibilities were set to ensure the completion of the proposal for a new project. The day ended with an inspiring visit to SODIMAC, one of the largest household distributors in the country.

Day 3: Wednesday, August 7th, 2024
Wednesday was a national holiday, and the participants enjoyed a cultural activity arranged by the host, Universidad del Rosario. The group visited the neighboring city of Zipaquirá, where they toured the Salt Cathedral and the former salt mine, operational until the second half of the 20th century. This was a remarkable experience for all involved.

Day 4: Thursday, August 8th, 2024
Thursday was the highlight of the week, featuring the 8th in4in conference. This year's theme was "Capacity Building and Service Learning in Higher Education Institutions (HEI)." The conference attracted participants from over 48 countries. Presentations focused on good practices in the university-business linkage (UBL) context, with case studies shared by Leipzig University, Mount Kenya University, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Universidad del Rosario, and Universidad Tecnica Nacional of Costa Rica.
