220 colleges and universities have applied with their concepts for the funding measure EXIST Potentiale of the BMWi. The Mitteldeutscher Unibund was able to convince with the concept of the "International Startup Campus", which combines the development of an international start-up academy, the recruitment of foreign founders and the support of market access for German startups in Asia.
In front of the guests, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Paul, Prorector for Research at Martin Luther University Halle and representatives of the university management of Mitteldeutscher Unibund took part in a round of talks between the three award-winning universities and Federal Minister Peter Altmaier.
The University of Leipzig is responsible for coordinating the joint project. The project manager Professor Utz Dornberger from the Leipzig University is delighted with the award and looks forward to the intensification of cooperation between the transfer and founding institutions of the three universities: "Thanks to our many years of experience in supporting start-ups, our strong international partners and our embedding in the Central German economic area, we can now substantially expand the internationalisation of start-up support with the help of the EXIST potentials funding measure and anchor it sustainably across all three universities". The joint project is scheduled to run for four years and is scheduled to start in April 2020.
