This week, we held the fifth IDEAS Research Colloquium of 2023 – our 29th session so far!

Dolly Mavuta, a PhD candidate from the ACCESS Project at SEPT, presented her proposal on "Perceived factors influencing creation of university spin-offs in Kenya". We are looking forward to seeing this interesting research project evolve within our community!

After that, Dr. Benjamin Bizimana from INES Ruhengeri (Rwanda), one of Leipzig’s six partner universities in the ACCESS project, joined us to talk about “Literature Review Mechanisms: Process and Challenges”. He reminded us that a literature review is not a report but a critical analysis of existing works. Evaluate what you find in material produced by others, value their contributions, mention the weaknesses and always keep your purpose in mind: Show the gap that your project wants to address!

33 participants from four continents attended and contributed to a lively debate that we are happy to continue on our exclusive IDEA Summer School app. We are especially happy that some members of the IDEA Summer School 2023 intake joined today’s session – even before the official start of their Summer School.

Welcome in the IDEAS Network!
