The EntreAction Project held a 5-day workshop for university teachers from the participating partner universities. The workshop was hosted by Tampere University of Applied Sciences from 11 – 15 December 2023, in Tampere, Finland, under the theme “training for teachers; how to prepare a movie for generation Z and generation A”.

19 participants (including two from SEPT, Leipzig University) from the six countries joined the workshop in person with three participating online. The training is part of capacity-building interventions under the Erasmus+-funded project aimed at developing innovative teaching and learning approaches in entrepreneurship education using video and case stories of entrepreneurs.

The contents of the training workshops include developing character portraits using the case study of student films, a survey for developing high-quality educational videos for students, visual strategy and platform selection for short documentaries (moodboard), service designing your pre-production process for educational videos on entrepreneurial journeys, moving images and storytelling - a tool for learning, video editing using OpenShot, video production tricks and tips, among others. Other key discussions include the transmedia communication (social media) strategy and preparation for the next Summer School with students in July 2024.

As part of the training, each partner university presented selected case stories and the multimedia materials collected. The EntreAction team from Leipzig University presented selected start-ups or companies connected to the SMILE Initiative at Leipzig University. To this, Akwaba AfrikamadebymadeGreenhub and Disaster Relief Systems were presented. The case of Akwaba Afrika, a sustainably oriented travelling company specialising in individualised adventure trips to Africa, was the highlight of the presentation. Inherent in the presentation was the initial interview video with Mr. David Heidler (Co-Founder and Managing Director, Akwaba Afrika) on his entrepreneurship journey, key experiences and lessons.

The next major activity of the project is the Summer School with teachers and students from the partner universities. It will be held from 15 – 26 July 2024, hosted by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale, Turkey.

The EntreAction project is a multinational project with a consortium of seven project partners, led by the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, with Leipzig University (SEPT Competence Center, Germany), Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), Science4People (Poland), Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Aveiro (Portugal), and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (Turkey) as project implementing partners. The project is funded under the European Commission Erasmus+ Cooperation partnerships in higher education initiative. The project started in October 2022 and will end in June 2025.
