Last November, Brenda Irala Rivera, recent graduate student from the SEPT MBA presented the practice paper “Developing a Gamification Concept from Promoting Innovation in Microbusinesses” at the ISPIM Connects Athens, innovation conference taking place in Athens, Greece. The paper is the result of her Master Thesis project at SEPT Competence Center.

ISPIM Connects Athens was held in Greece from November 28 to November 30, 2022, with the theme: The Role of Innovation: Past, Present and Future. This innovation conference is organized by the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) and aims to create a bridge between Academia and practitioners about Innovation Management.

Bringing more than 200 innovation professionals from academia, industry, consulting, and the public sector in a series of presentations and workshops about business model innovation, digital transformation and innovation ecosystems.

Brenda Irala Rivera, recent graduate student from the SEPT MBA presented the paper “Developing a Gamification Concept from Promoting Innovation in Microbusiness” under the subtheme innovation training, teaching, and coaching. The paper explores the use of a gamification approach to support entrepreneurs and business owners training on Innovation Management concepts.

Besides the paper presentation, Brenda also conducted a workshop in which participants had the opportunity to interact with the tool she developed. Innovation professionals provided positive and interesting feedback to keep improving the prototype and suggested to test the gamification concept among other potential groups like university students.
