Course Structure

The International Business Ambassador training program is structured into two comprehensive phases, each designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in international business development with a real company.

Duration: July 1 – August 28, 2025

Over the span of eight weeks, participants engage in a structured series of weekly online training sessions combined with personalized coaching. These sessions are led by expert lecturers from Leipzig University and selected external professionals with deep expertise in international business.

Participants also receive weekly one-on-one coaching tailored to both the training content and their ongoing project work.

Key Topics covered:

  • International Business Model Development
  • Market & Competitor Analysis
  • Customer Segmentation & Value Proposition Design
  • Market Entry & Distribution Strategies
  • International Marketing
  • International Sales and Sales Strategies
  • Payment and Delivery Conditions
  • Practical Coaching for Project Development

Throughout this phase, participants work in small teams on a real-life case study provided by a German company. This practical application of skills lays the groundwork for the next phase of the program.

Duration: September 2025

Following the training phase, participants shift their focus entirely to developing market entry strategies for their assigned case company. Over three weeks, they prepare in-depth recommendations, supported by ongoing coaching sessions.

The program culminates in an Online Hackathon, where each group presents its strategy to company representatives and a panel of experts.

This final presentation:

  • Demonstrates participants’ market insight and practical capabilities
  • Serves as a platform for German companies to identify potential interns or future collaborators
  • May lead to follow-up interviews for selected candidates

Outcome:

Participants selected during the hackathon by a German SME or start-up for further collaboration will be invited to join the next module, which includes:

  • An internship in Germany
  • A free German language course
  • A summer school program at Leipzig University

This practical, hands-on approach ensures that participants not only understand international business theory but can also apply it effectively in real-world scenarios.

International academics have a unique opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge from the International Business Ambassador training into practice through a potential collaboration with German start-ups and small or medium-sized enterprise (SME).
