Information and Topics

This semester, the participants will work on the overarching topic „High inflation: challenges for monetary policy and risks for fiscal policy “. This overarching topic will be split in smaller individual projects. It is highly recommended that participants work together on the overlapping parts of their projects.

The final output of the course are individual term papers (max 15 pages). In addition, students write a report on a seminal paper related to the topic of their own thesis (approx. 2 pages), and give a present their topic (around 30 minutes). The goal of the seminar is twofold. First, students gain a basic understanding on possible sources of, and policy responses to business cycle fluctuations. Second, students learn how to work scientifically.
