The research network “AFin - Action-based Financial Literacy – Conceptualization, Assessment and Validation” aims to develop a holistic framework for a competency model of financial literacy. The goal is a model that forms the basis for valid measurement of financial literacy and provides the prerequisite for effective support approaches. The network is funded by the German Research Foundation for a period of three years (10/2021 – 09/2024). In addition to the Institute of Business Education and Management Training at the University of Leipzig, other leading participants including Prof. Dr. Manuel Förster (applicant - TU Munich), Prof. Dr. Mandy Hommel (co-responsible applicant - OTH Amberg-Weiden), Prof. Dr. Carmela Aprea (University of Mannheim), Prof. Dr. Bärbel Fürstenau (TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Eveline Wuttke (Goethe University Frankfurt a. M.) are involved in this network. A total of 18 national and international scientists work together in the network.
