Abstract
I am a PhD candidate in economics under the supervision of Professor Melanie Krause. I started my work at the University of Leipzig in August of 2022, after finishing my master's degree in economics at the University of Hamburg.
My work typically explores topics in environmental economics employing quantitative methods of analysis.
At present, I am conducting research in the realm of the zero waste concept, exploring this topic as it pertains to climate change mitigation and urban development in present day.

In my research, as in my personal life, I am very interested in the natural environment. As we face an ever-worsening climate crisis, we must better understand the impacts of human behavior on the planet, and design and implement policies which curb and, in best cases, correct anthropogenic impacts. The global climate dilemma spans many fields of study and facets of life thus fueling my drive to conduct interdisciplinary research (especially with natural sciences- ecology, geology, geophysics, and biology).
Past research has been directed at the viability of carbon pricing schemes and the elasticity of CO2 emissions under different price thresholds. Moving forward, I am interested in exploring non-market carbon sinks and the role that regenerative agriculture (no-till farming) can play in the sequestration of CO2, agricultural efficiency, and food production.
With an estimated third of all food produced being wasted, my present project examines zero-waste waste management practices in the realm of sustainable urban development. I employ modern and cutting edge econometric and statistical methods to empirically examine these topics.
