As part of a team of 24 co-authors, Junior Professor Dr. Paul Lehmann contributes to a research project examining the effects of wind energy on the environment, society, economy, and law. The study systematically synthesizes the findings of more than 400 individual studies and offers guidance for future research and policymaking.

The study explores how wind energy influences and interacts with its surroundings, addressing various areas such as climate and environment, but also socio-economic and political-legal systems. How does a wind farm impact the local climate? What happens to rotor blades that are difficult to recycle? What costs and benefits can be identified for the immediate neighbors of wind energy projects? And how are operations affected if supply chains are disrupted? The review paper offers a comprehensive overview of the current state of research by summarizing more than 400 studies and discussing challenges such as improving local acceptance and finding solutions to the recycling issue.
