The master's program offered by the SEPT Competence Center at Leipzig University is unique in its kind since it specializes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The international students of our Master's in Business Administration (MBA), with a special focus on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), began their on-site classes in April for the 2022 Summer Semester.

These are the SEPT MBA students of classes 20-22 and 21-23, who are in their second and fourth academic semesters, respectively. For the former group, this is the beginning of their research trip while, for the latter, it is the conclusion of the same. Students of both intakes come from 29 different countries.

At this time of the year, the days get longer, the nights get shorter, and the green areas of the city are at their best. The first brings the ideal weather for outdoor activities, in parallel with the academic challenges of our students in Leipzig.

In their second semester, students in the SEPT MBA program must select their research topics for their master's theses. In parallel, they choose to take two of the following modules: Innovation Management, SME Financing, SME Marketing, and Knowledge Management.

In some cases, international students in the fourth semester return to Leipzig after a trip to their home countries, where they did fieldwork and collected data for their academic research. They must then translate their work into the final document: the master's thesis.

The last semester will also include some seminars and special lectures, such as that of Prof. Dr. Johannes Hogg, who will visit us and share his expertise on sustainable development with our students. Undoubtedly, the program’s activities for this summer semester are varied and quite interesting.
