The June issue 31/2 of Electronic Markets is now online and comprises a collection of papers in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As described in the editorial on “Electronic Markets on digital platforms and AI” by Rainer Alt, there are three relationships between the digital platforms and AI. Various aspects in these three areas are addressed in the ten papers included in the 31/2-issue. They are organized in two special theme sections with three papers each and four additional general research articles. The first special section on recommendation systems in electronic markets was organized by Ravi S. Sharma, Aijaz A. Shaikh and Eldon Li and the second on hybrid intelligence in business networks by Philipp Ebel, Matthias Söllner, Jan Marco Leimeister, Kevin Crowston and Gert-Jan de Vreede. The general research articles present research on data quality in recommender systems, on privacy in digital assistants, on chatbots in customer service and on Trustworthy AI. All articles are available via SpringerLink, six of them as Open Access. We wish to thank the guest editors and all authors, reviewers and editors who participated in this issue!
