Prof. Dr. Bogdan Franczyk

Master

As part of the master's program of business information systems the chair of information management offers the module 'Integration and Architecture of Application Systems' for students of the 1st semester. In this module the basic techniques for integration of application systems and the required architectures are taught. In the 2nd semester the module 'Architectures and Systems for Business Processes' is offered. Here the basic techniques for handling enterprise business processes and their implementation are presented. As part of the module 'Service Science' the 3rd semester offers insights into a relatively new branch of science that examines the management of services from different angles.

Module System Integration and Architecture of Application Systems (WS 12/13)

Lecture Integration Engineering I

Learn about the restructuring of companies in the past and present. How has the system landscape of companies evolved? What technologies are used to integrate systems?

As to that, the most important concepts such as EAI and various middleware technologies are presented. In addition, aspects of integration at the data level are shown.

As an innovation, a strong focus is placed on issues of cloud computing.

Lecture Integration Engineering II

  • Basics of Web Services
  • Functionalities and standards
  • Event notification and service-oriented architectures
  • Service compositions and service transactions
  • Service security and service policies
  • Service semantics and business protocols
  • Service design and management

Practical Seminar Integation and Architecture of Application Systems

The event is aimed at master students of the degree course business information systems and is part of the module 'Integration and Architecture of Application Systems'.

This exercise is meant to deepen the lectures of integration of engineering 1 and 2.

Module Service Science

Lecture Service Science

The course 'Service Science - Design for Scalability and transformations by use of SOA' is aimed at master students studying business information systems and is part of the module 'Service Science'.

Participants will learn about the basics of service science and in particular about the engineering of IT-based services based on SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) and SOC (Service Oriented Computing).

Service Science Seminar

The course 'Service Science' is aimed at master students studying business information systems and is part of the module 'Service Science'.

The exercise intensifies the acquired knowledge from class Service Science and covers system modeling, using methods, project management and the implementation of a development project.

Lecture Engineering of IT-based services

The course 'Engineering of IT-based services' is aimed at master students studying business informations systems and is part of the module 'Service Science'.

The lecture will be read in the summer semester by Prof. Fähnrich.

Participants will learn about the basics of service science and in particular about the engineering of IT-based services based on SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) and SOC (Service Oriented Computing).

Module architectures and systems for business processes

Lecture 'architectures and systems in practice'

The course 'architectures and systems in practice' is aimed at master students studying business information systems and is part of the module 'architectures and systems for business processes'.

The lecture is conducted as a block. Further information will be published in due course in Moodle.

The lecture provides an insight into the development and operation of large software systems in practice. By examples of real systems, it is shown how or by which means software systems can be designed and implemented.

Seminar 'Business Process Management'

The seminar 'Business Process Management' is aimed at master students studying business information systems and is part of the module 'architectures and systems for business processes'.

In addition to the seminar an exercise is offered. Further informations will be announced in the seminar.

In this seminar techniques for dealing with business processes are taught. In particular, this seminar is meant to show the implementation of processes by the aid of adequate software systems and testing in practice.

Exercise 'Business Process Management'

The exercise 'Business Process Management' is aimed at master students studying business information systems and is part of the module 'architectures and systems for business processes'.

In this exercise techniques for dealing with business processes are taught. In particular, this exercise is meant to show the implementation of processes by the aid of adequate software systems and testing in practice.
