Electronic Markets Papers of the Year 2016

Among all the exciting contributions to Electronic Markets it is always hard to choose the best papers of the year. This year the editors of Electronic Markets selected two papers as outstanding of all articles in 2016:

• "Smart technologies for personalized experiences: a case study in the hospitality domain" von Barbara Neuhofer, Dimitrios Buhalis and Adele Ladkin and
• "Smart tourism: foundations and developments" von Ulrike Gretzel, Marianna Sigala, Zheng Xiang and Chulmo Koo.

Both papers were recognizes regarding their contribution to theory as well as practice and received much attention within the scientific community measured by citations and downloads. Congratulations to all authors for this achievement!
