Profile

The Chair for Energy Management and Sustainability applies integrative and context-based analyses of economical, ecological and social aspects of a sustainable energy supply. We support the Faculty of Economics and Management Science by offering lecturers, seminars, workshops and courses on energy engineering, energy management, energy economics, energy system modeling  and integrated assessment modeling of climate protection strategies.

Our chair addresses complex and policy-relevant research questions. Our practical orientation allows us to function as bridge between energy and environmental scientific research institutions and policy-makers as well as other stakeholders. This becomes visible through our cooperation with The Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics, where we aim to actively support the establishment of a “Competence Center for Sustainability Research”.
